The Reel
The new Shimano Spheros SWA 10000PG Spinning Reel offers even more angler confidence than ever before. The features and IPX8 sealed body are due to the combination of X-Protect and X-Shield, whilst the Infinity Drive produces effortless handle rotation under heavy drags. The 10000PG model is designed for mechanical jigging and packs 12kg of drag.

Infinity Drive
With the Infinity Drive, the pinion gear inner does not make contact with the main shaft, as high-sliding bushing supports the main shaft and sliding resistance is reduced. In addition to this, a special skidding coating on the main shaft helps to further reduce sliding resistance. Infinity Drive cuts handle rotation torque by about 30% in comparison to the conventional system, and makes the reel more powerful. This enables anglers to wind more aggressively, even under heavy load.

Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings' rotation.

HAGANE Body
Hagane Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing. The result transforms the anglers' actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

HAGANE Gear
Hagane Gear is at the very heart of the reel and creates strength and durability. The entire cold-forging process is calculated in minute detail by special 3D design and the result is precision durability.

X-Protect
By combining water repellent coating and specially designed, water channelling labyrinth construction, X-Protect provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear and rotor rotation.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

AR-C Spool Management System
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.
